Give the gift of mathematical exploration and fun! This experience includes one 1-hour math circle session for up to 10 students, facilitated by a qualified and accomplished middle school math teacher, designed to spark curiosity and develop problem-solving skills in children.

About the Math Teacher

Ali Fleming has been a teacher for 15 years. After four years teaching kindergarten and Pre-K, she has been teaching middle school math (and loving it!). Ali is a Math Specialist at the Dalton School. She loves helping students become resilient, curious problem-solvers who can work as part of a team. Her teaching methods borrow from Social Learning Theory, particularly Constructivism and Guided Inquiry.

Terms & Conditions

• Available to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
• Refer to the contact information on the HWISPA-NY winner certificate to coordinate a date, time, and location that mutually suits the teacher and participants.
• Maximum group size of 10 students for one (1) hour.
• Math circle can take place on the NY campus during aftercare hours or in-home.
• In-home locations limited to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx; winner must provide round-trip ride-share service for teacher to and from a circle hosted in a home.
• Weekday evenings and weekends subject to availability.
• Redeemable within one (1) year of the HWISPA-NY 2025 Silent Auction; expires May 9, 2026.
