During two days of touring, participants will learn essential avalanche skills, beacon rescue, safe route selection, efficient skinning, and downhill techniques on skis/split-boards while enjoying the legendary Wasatch terrain.

Instructors will focus on equipment & travel procedures in avalanche terrain, discussing tour choices based on current conditions and hazards. Techniques for efficient and safe skinning and trail setting will be reviewed, including kick-turn skills. Guides will coach on transitioning to downhill mode and descending safely in avalanche-prone areas. Techniques for skiing untracked snow will be demonstrated, with tips to improve skills. Breaks will be had for enjoying the winter environment and practicing beacon searches.

On the second day, participants will take a longer tour, usually reaching a classic Wasatch bowl or skiable peak. Guides will demonstrate snow stability assessment techniques and suggest future tours to help participants achieve their goals.
