Artist George Wharton Edwards was an American impressionist painter and famous illustrator. Two of his best works "Finding the lost Treasure" & "Poor frightened Gretel" pull from the pages of author Mary Mapes Dodge's book "Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates" in pastels, pencil and watercolor illustration, which brings this unique piece to life. This artwork is signed by the artist in the lower image. Archivally framed and matted publisher's label mounted to verso and visible thru window on back. A signed and dedicated copy of the published book " Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates" by author Mary Mapes Dodge. Charles Scribner's Sons 1935 printed in USA is included with this item.Circa 1935.
