Preview Now!In the Jacksonville area, over 76,000 kids are at risk of going hungry this weekend. These kids rely on their school's free and reduced-price meal program to provide the nourishment they need to learn and grow. But, what happens to these kids when school closes its doors on Friday? Who will feed the kids this weekend? Together, we will!
To ensure the kids in our community have full tummies over the weekend, Blessings in a Backpack sends them home on Fridays with backpacks full of satisfying and nutritional food.
Established in 2017, the First Coast chapter finished last school year feeding 4,500 and has the potential to feed many, many more.
Since 2008, Blessings in a Backpack has provided more than 20 million hunger-free weekends for kids across America. We currently have more than 1,200 active programs in 45 states.
