Private tour of Drayton Hall followed by a catered lunch in the private Kennedy Library on the grounds. What could be more fascinating than experiencing this house with Trish Smith, the Director of Preservation and Archives at Drayton Hall?
You and your friends will go behind the scenes with Trish Smith as she walks you through new discoveries, in-depth research, and hands-on-preservation. An expert on Drayton Hall since since 2010, Trish will captivate you with her knowledge and passion. Drayton Hall is one of the most remarkable houses in North America; in fact, it is the earliest and finest example of Palladian architecture in the United States!
Trish and her peers are constantly studying the historic structures for clues that tell us how the main house and surviving outbuildings were designed, built and used, how they changed over time, and what stories they have to tell about the people who lived and worked here. Because Drayton Hall has never been restored, Trish has had the rare opportunity to study materials and designs from every period in the house's history-all the way back to the time of its construction in the 1740s.
