Bid to win a day-long race school at Thermal Racetrack in Thermal, CA! This is a truly awesome experience¦. nothing like Porsche drive center that most people are familiar with. This program is for anyone wanting to learn the basics of driving a real race car on a real race track.

So what will your day at the race track be like? Here's a breakdown given by the experience donor:

9AM - You show up at Thermal Track, a stunning private race facility with luxury homes on the race track. I believe [Formula One driver] Max Verstappen owns a home on the track. The facility is a deluxe 5-star experience.

Breakfast and then go over some in-class race car basics.

Next you'll drive on skid pad/auto cross. This is so fun. You get to spin car around and drift in between cones and learn how to handle the car when is slides away. All about car control.

Then there is some other track side driving before lunch time.

Gourmet lunch in the private dining room at Thermal and then back to the track!

First driving a BMW race prepped car. You get a coach to sit in the car next to you for instruction.

After that, you get to ride in the passenger seat of a Ferrari 488 Challenge race car. (Red car pictured is the donor's same 488 Challenge car.)

All drivers need to ride in the passenger seat to feel the sensation of this kind of car before they drive it themselves!

Finally, drivers get to drive the 488 Challenge Race car on the track in lead follow formation.

It's such an awesome day. I may join whoever wins the day!

Everything is included…just show up! Winning bidder is welcome to bring a guest and I know R3 would accommodate others as well in case the kids want to go and watch dad or mom.

I mentioned Porsche Driving Experience - very popular with many people. This is a short afternoon session that is boring at best but many people like it.

Corso Esperienza is another world. The cars are real race cars with many safety features and full roll cages. These are not Street cars.

These are the real deal and safe too.

Thermal is a 3-hour drive in the desert from LA, so most people get a room the night before at La Quinta Waldorf resort nearby and make it a fun 2-day weekend.

The logistics:

Jan and Feb are best months to go. Weather is cooler in the desert, and it gets hot in these cars with the race suit and helmet.

March is race month so dates are very limited that month.

I went through the calendar for Jan. and Feb., and we picked out multiple Sat and Sundays. Most people will want to do it on a weekend given the drive and peoples work schedule.

All other dates are subject to availability. R# is always there but they never know who is renting the track for private events or such.
