Project Description:
I am requesting funds for the kiln in our school, and the materials and supplies required to make decorative crafts. I would like our students to experience the diverse world of art and not have to limit them because we are a small school district.

Impact:
Because we are a small rural farming community, most of our students only experience the beauty of nature's canvas and are limited in their opportunities for self-expression. My hope with this ceramics project is to give students a chance to show their beloved community through their own creativity. The kiln we have seems to be working, but it has not been used for several years, so it may require some equipment maintenance. In addition, I will need new clay, brushes, ceramic paints, glazes, sculpting tools, and platforms or stands for the pottery to set on.
