Project Description:
Bennett High School is committed to supporting its teachers in an effort to reduce teacher turnover, which has become a national crisis. The goal of this project is to implement a well-being plan that addresses the physical and emotional needs of teachers, helping them stay in their classrooms and do their best work for students. A teacher needs assessment is being conducted to better understand what specific resources teachers need to be successful. Nationally, burnout, lack of work-life balance, and feeling undervalued are top reasons teachers leave the profession, and the project aims to address these issues.

The plan includes monthly or bi-monthly distribution of items such as classroom care packages, recognition programs, and self-care resources. A "Tiger of the Month" program will allow students to nominate outstanding teachers, who will be recognized with a certificate, a gift, and a break period. Additionally, in-service training days will feature personal wellness activities, guest speakers, and self-care items. The aim is to foster a supportive environment for teachers, boost morale, and show appreciation for their hard work.

• Classroom Care Packages: 24 packages @ $20 each = $240
• Tiger of the Month Program: 9 months @ $20 each = $180
