Project Title: Supporting Special Populations

Category: Supporting Special Populations (English Language Learners, Special Needs Students, Gifted Education)

Funding Amount Requested: $1,000

Project Description:
I am seeking funding to provide essential educational resources for my students in La Junta, Colorado, a rural community. Our school population includes English Language Learners, gifted and talented students, and students with special needs, all of whom require customized support to thrive academically. Unfortunately, I've struggled to find appropriate or Colorado-standardized social studies materials for the entire class, and the specialized resources that offer extra visual support for my diverse learners often come at a cost I cannot cover on my own. Funding this project will empower these students, ensuring they receive the education and the support they need to be successful.

Impact:
This project will support 95 students by enhancing our current unit on the U.S. Constitution and extending to all areas of social studies, including geography, civics, history, and economics. The resources will be tailored to meet the needs of English Language Learners, gifted students, and students with special needs, ensuring that all learners are engaged and able to fully participate in lessons. By providing visual and bilingual materials, students will have access to the tools they need to succeed.

Use of Funds:
- **Acrylic paint** (white, brown, yellow) and paint brushes for projects
- **Laminated geography maps** and U.S. Constitution posters
- **Bilingual vocabulary flashcards** and visual word wall resources
- **Visual timeline** of U.S. history
- **Glue sticks, scissors, and markers** for classroom activities
