Project Description:
The Florida Mesa Elementary (FME) Student Council aims to give greater student voice and choice throughout the school. As a Title 1 School, where more than 50% of students qualify for free and reduced lunch, we believe this initiative will foster engagement, community spirit, and personal development. The Student Council will consist of fifth graders in leadership positions, alongside classroom representatives from other grades. The council will work on initiatives such as school-wide programs, enhancing after-school activities, and providing snacks to ensure no student goes hungry.

Proposal:
The FME Student Council is in its initial stages, and funding is needed to start this program. The Student Council will create a budget to enhance the school, engage in community service projects, and learn leadership skills. We hope to take the council on a field trip to town hall, develop new after-school programs, and provide snacks for all classrooms. The initiative will positively impact the school by promoting student voice, engagement, and leadership.
