Project Description:
Deer Trail is a small rural community with just over 1,000 residents, and our school serves about 300 students from PK-12. With 60% of our students qualifying for Free and Reduced Lunch, many face economic challenges. Due to the remote location, students lack access to suitable clothing and hygiene supplies, leading to difficulties focusing on academics. This project aims to provide students with hygiene education and supplies to improve their self-care, allowing them to focus on learning without worrying about their appearance.

Proposal:
The project will provide hygiene education and starter kits for students, as well as expand the current small bank of hygiene supplies and clean clothes available at the school. Many students deal with housing instability and lack access to basic hygiene items and new clothing. This project will alleviate the social pressures around hygiene and appearance by giving students access to clean clothes and necessary hygiene items, helping them feel confident and ready to learn.
