Project Description:
I am requesting funds to create a calm and comfortable environment that promotes optimum learning in our small rural town on the Western Slope of Colorado. By fostering a peaceful atmosphere, I hope to help the kids engage more in their studies and look forward to coming to school.

Proposal:
As a new teacher setting up my classroom for the first time, I aim to design an all-encompassed classroom project that targets multiple areas and will benefit students year after year. My focus is on creating a welcoming and calm learning environment that students will be excited to be in, promoting optimized learning. I envision providing multiple seating areas where students can move around while working on their studies, softer lighting that is easier on their eyes, and a well-stocked library of diverse books. Additionally, I aim to supply art materials to encourage creativity, as well as basic supplies like paper and pens. I also want to provide healthy snacks, as several of my students have expressed that not being hungry helps them feel safe.
