Project Title: Hands on playground equipment
Category: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
Amount Requested: $1,750

Project Description:
We are a public charter school serving the community of Cortez, Ute Mountain reservation, and the county of Montezuma. Our school serves indigenous, Hispanic, and Caucasian youths, with the majority of our students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. As we are a charter school, we do not have the same resources as other public schools in our community. Currently, our school does not have any permanent stand-alone playground equipment, and we are looking to supplement the equipment we do have with outdoor building blocks that can also be used for STEM lessons by individual classes. We hope the building blocks will stimulate the creativity of our students and keep them engaged in positive playground behaviors.

Project Justification:
We are looking to find more hands-on and mind-engaging activities during recess time. We feel the Blue Blocks equipment would allow our students to work together to be creative in designing and constructing a variety of creations.

Budget Breakdown:
We would order two sets of medium blue blocks for a total of $1,750.
