Project Title: Furniture for Active Learning
Category: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
Amount Requested: $2,000
Project Description:
Middle Park High School is located in Granby, CO, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Imagine students sitting in the same classroom setup since kindergarten-rows of desks facing a teacher, much like an office. This traditional setup stifles creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving, skills essential for today's workforce.
We want to reimagine the classroom. Collaborative furniture can transform this traditional setting into a dynamic, engaging workspace where students collaborate, share ideas, and solve real-world challenges. This kind of environment prepares students for the jobs of tomorrow by enhancing their creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
Proposal:
This project will fund the purchase of collaborative classroom furniture that will improve student engagement and foster teamwork, helping students develop essential 21st-century skills. The grant will allow us to implement station rotations, where students can work together in small groups, making a significant step toward more interactive learning.
Budget Breakdown:
