Project Description:
Weld Central High School's Freshman Advisory group is seeking funding to support an important field trip as part of the "Discovery Program," designed to help freshmen build a sense of community and learn positive social skills. The school serves a large rural area, and many students come from different towns, making it difficult to form a close-knit community. The "Discovery Program" helps students develop essential communication and social skills needed to succeed in school, at home, and in future careers.

One of the key events is a ropes course trip at "The Edge" in Castle Rock, where students will participate in team-building exercises and activities that promote trust, risk-taking, and teamwork. This activity helps reinforce the lessons learned in the program and provides an opportunity for students to bond with each other. The day-long trip is a vital component of the program and is mandatory for all freshmen.
