Project Description:
Stephanie Abram is seeking funding to transform her high school English classroom into a more engaging and inclusive learning space. Located in one of the poorest counties in Colorado, Moffat School serves a diverse group of students with various learning needs. This project aims to introduce Manga Shakespeare graphic novels, gamified learning through platforms like Blooket, Kahoot, and Pixton, as well as providing an Audible subscription to support auditory learners. Additionally, a Watcom pen tablet will enhance interactive lessons, and funding for a reliable teacher computer is requested to improve classroom efficiency.
Project Proposal:
- Manga Shakespeare: Graphic novel versions of Shakespeare's works to make classic literature accessible and engaging for all students, particularly those who struggle with traditional texts.
- Online Subscriptions: Access to Blooket, Kahoot, Audible, and Pixton will gamify learning, catering to different learning styles and increasing student motivation.
- Watcom Pen Tablet: This tool will allow for interactive and hands-on lessons that accommodate diverse learning preferences.
- Teacher Computer: A reliable computer is essential for conducting lessons efficiently, as the current one is unreliable and no longer functional for classroom needs.
Budget Narrative:
- Manga Shakespeare (Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing): $600
- Subscriptions (Pixton, Kahoot Premium, Blooket Premium, Audible): $450
- Watcom Pen Tablet: $100
- Computer: $850
