Project Description:
I am requesting funds to buy children's books for elementary schools nearby. Clear Creek School District is a small, close-knit community. Through this project, my 8th-grade students will research the impact of early literacy, select children's books, and read them to preschool and kindergarten students at local schools. This project aims to build community, foster peer involvement, and promote the importance of literacy. My students will learn that reading can make a difference in the lives of others while developing skills in research, communication, and community service.

Proposal:
Clear Creek Middle School seeks to expand its engagement with the community through project-based learning. In this project, my advanced 8th-grade students will research how early literacy affects personal growth, select children's books, and analyze their themes. The class will visit a local elementary school to read to younger students and donate the selected books to the school's library. This project not only emphasizes the importance of literacy but also fosters a sense of responsibility and community connection for my students, empowering them to make a positive impact on others.
