Project Description:
I would love to create a calming space where my students can feel a sense of belonging and acceptance! A place where they can come in, make themselves comfortable, and curl up with a good book! Several of our students come from home lives that are not conducive to their personal best, so I want to provide that within my classroom.

Proposal:
I want to create a space that welcomes all students and encourages them to become "readers." By adding flexible seating, lighting, newer books, and creating a sense of family and belonging, I hope to foster an environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally. This classroom will also serve as a "safe place" for students, complete with a hygiene area and snacks, making it a space they feel comfortable in.

With $2,000, I will purchase the following:

• Couch and alternative seating options
• New classroom lighting
• New books for the library
• Hygiene area for students
• Snacks
• New classroom decor with calming colors
