Amount Requested: $2,000

Project Description:
Sargent School District is located in the heart of potato fields, fittingly represented by the Farmers as their mascot. Nearly half of the high school students are enrolled in agriculture classes, and over 35 students are involved in the FFA chapter. A significant number of students are passionate about veterinary and animal sciences. With funding, they will have the opportunity to practice essential veterinary skills using a Feline Vet Trainer model, allowing them to gain hands-on experience. This resource will greatly benefit the school's Vet Science Team and other students interested in pursuing careers in veterinary sciences for years to come.

The Feline Vet Trainer is produced by RealityWorks and offers realistic, hands-on practice with cat care skills. Students will have the opportunity to practice CPR, venipuncture, injections, blood draws, and catheterization. With moveable limbs, students can also learn restraint and positioning techniques. The trainer includes a standards-based curriculum, making it an invaluable resource for the vet sciences program.

Budget Breakdown:

  • Feline Vet Trainer from RealityWorks: $1,999

The requested $2,000 will cover the full cost of the Feline Vet Trainer, enabling students to enhance their veterinary skills.
