Project Title: Fun with Science and Math
Category: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
Amount Requested: $1,795

Project Description:
Our school is nestled in the mountains of southern Colorado at an elevation of 9,000 feet. This was the last silver boom town of the 19th century, although our economy now is primarily reliant on tourism. Once the tourist season ends, our population shrinks dramatically from thousands to approximately 450, and our little town settles into a small, close-knit, family atmosphere.

I am requesting a subscription to Generation Genius, which will provide video lessons made in partnership with the National Science Teachers Association for science and math. This subscription will serve K-8th grade. Sometimes in such a small school, resources are limited, and although we provide as many hands-on experiences as we can, Generation Genius will be a great resource for all of us. Along with the video lessons, our teachers will be able to utilize the standards-based lessons, activities, and quizzes.

Project Goals:
This subscription will provide support that we would not otherwise have access to. The lessons are standards-based, and the accompanying videos show complete science experiments that will be engaging and beneficial to our students. The math videos will give further support in learning new concepts as well.

Budget Breakdown:
A year-long subscription to Generation Genius for $1,795 will provide us with a library of videos, lessons, activities, and quizzes that are standards-based for our math and science curriculums. Each K-8 teacher in our school will be able to access the appropriate grade-level content to enhance his/her lessons.
