Project Title: "A Symphony Adventure"
Category: Music, Journalism and the Arts
Amount Requested: $1,700

Project Description:
I am seeking funding to take my 3rd-5th grade music students to experience a live symphony performance in Colorado Springs. Our school, located in the small mountain town of Woodland Park, has grown rapidly from 120 students to over 500 in just four years, providing a much-needed choice option for local families. Unfortunately, as we continue to grow, we've recently faced significant funding cuts, and I have not had the resources in past years to cover the costs of busses and tickets for this type of field trip.

In Woodland Park, we lack access to large cultural events like those available in Colorado Springs, where the symphony performance will take place. Many of my students have never had the opportunity to attend such a performance, and this trip would have a profound impact, helping to cultivate a deeper appreciation for music and the arts.

As their music teacher, I've used a significant amount of my own personal funds to provide as many enriching experiences as possible for my students. However, I need additional support to offer them the chance to witness live orchestral music, which could inspire them and deepen their understanding of the music we explore in class. Your support would empower these students, many from rural backgrounds, with an experience that could leave a lasting impression on their musical education.

Use of Funds:
The funds will be specifically used for transportation to and from Colorado Springs as well as tickets for each student and staff members.
