Amount Requested: $2,000
Principal: Kelly Martin

Project Description:
Granby Elementary Preschool is seeking funds for "Fun Spanish Classes for Pre K," a full-immersion Spanish program led by an experienced Native Speaker. This program will benefit all students by providing language immersion in a fun and natural way. In particular, it will support new immigrant students and Spanish-speaking only students, helping them feel more comfortable and welcome in the classroom. With a 15% Spanish-speaking student population, this initiative will foster a classroom environment where all students feel seen and heard, and language barriers are overcome through engaging and interactive learning.
Project Proposal:
This project will impact 45-50 preschool students by providing one hour of Spanish immersion classes per week for 20 weeks. The funds will cover the cost of a Nativa Spanish instructor, along with materials, craft activities, and take-home sheets that allow students to share their learning with their families. The lessons are designed to make foreign language learning easy, engaging, and accessible to both English-speaking and non-English speaking students. The goal is to create an inclusive environment that fosters relationships among students and between students and adults in the classroom, while making language learning an exciting and positive experience.
Budget Narrative:
$100/hour for a Nativa Spanish instructor
1 hour per week for 20 weeks = $2,000
The package includes monthly learning units, materials, crafts, and take-home sheets.
