Project Description:
Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, CO, is seeking funding to purchase a full-sized concert tuba for its band program. The tuba, known as the bass voice of the band, is crucial for building a strong foundation in music. Currently, the school has no full-sized concert tuba for its high school students, only smaller instruments for middle school and marching band. By acquiring a new tuba, the high school band will be able to provide richer, fuller performances that will benefit both students and the community for years to come.
Project Proposal:
The "Full Sized High School Tuba" project will provide Platte Canyon High School with a new concert tuba to be used in music classes, concerts, and community events. The tuba will serve as the backbone of the band's sound, elevating performances and helping students develop essential music skills. In addition to being a vital part of the school band, the tuba will be featured in community events such as festivals and concerts, creating lasting memories for both students and audiences.
Budget Narrative:
The requested $2,000 will go toward the purchase of a full-sized concert tuba from Mack Brass or a similar vendor. A new tuba costs approximately $2,295, and any remaining costs will be covered by the school's music budget or additional fundraising efforts such as concession sales and donations.
