Project Description:
High in the Colorado mountains is the beautiful town of Vail. Our small elementary school is blessed with views of the surrounding mountains, and we strive to meet the needs of our diverse learners and cultures. Over the past several years, we have seen a growing population of second language learners, as well as students with various learning needs. As a K-5 Reading Interventionist, I work with students for 25-45 minutes a day, five days a week, helping them overcome reading challenges, including dyslexia. I have been using the Really Great Reading program with great success, and they recently introduced decodable books that match the scope and sequence of my lessons. I am requesting funds to purchase these decodable books to support my students' learning, both in the classroom and at home.

Proposal:
This grant will help me purchase multiple copies of decodable books from Really Great Reading to enhance the learning experience for my students. The books follow the phonics sequence we practice in class, providing consistency and reinforcement for struggling readers. Students will use these books during lessons and can take them home to practice with their families. These books will significantly improve reading comprehension, fluency, and confidence. Additionally, I am requesting two phonics assessments and a spelling grapheme mapping text to further support my progress monitoring and spelling instruction.
