A spotlight captures the lonely figure of a man in Trinidad, Cuba, outside a window showing the Cuban flag and an image of revolutionary leader Che Guevara. Trinidad, a town in central Cuba, is a UNESCO World Heritage site because of its historical importance as a center of the sugar trade in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Robert Holmes's photographs have appeared in every major travel publication including National Geographic, Departures, Travel & Leisure, Saveur, Islands, and Conde Nast Traveler. His books include "Passages, A Memoir;" "Passion for Pinot;" "Wine Country Table;" and "Cooking with the Seasons at Rancho La Puerta." He has been a contributor to many other photo books including several in the "A Day in the Life" series. He is a five-time recipient of the coveted Travel Photographer of the Year award from the Society of American Travel Writers and a five-time recipient of international Pink Lady food and wine photography awards. His prints are included in both public and private collections worldwide.
