The English singer and actor is regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century and is often dubbed the "chameleon of rock" because of his constant musical reinventions. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, and Rolling Stone ranked him among the greatest artists in history.

Greg Gorman's work documents the peculiar obsession with the 21st century celebrity. Known for honest portraits of the most famous and infamous figures from the worlds of entertainment, art, sports and music, Greg Gorman has intrigued viewers with his photography from the start of his career. "For me, a photograph is most successful when it doesn't answer all of the questions," says Gorman, "but leaves something to the imagination." Over five decades, his subjects have included a "Who's Who" of famous personalities, including Barbra Streisand, Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, Mick Jagger, Diana Ross, David Bowie and many more. Gorman has published 13 volumes of his work and has received both the Lucie Award for Portraiture and the Lifetime Achievement Award in Portraiture from the Professional Photographers of America. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1949, he currently resides in Los Angeles.
