Documentary photographer Maggie Steber has worked in 73 countries and is known for her photo essays in National Geographic magazine and her documentation of Haiti. Aperture published her book "Dancing on Fire: Photographs from Haiti." Steber is a Guggenheim Fellow, Pulitzer Prize finalist, Lucie Foundation awardee, a National Geographic Woman of Vision, World Press photo awardee, Oversees Press awardee and recipient of the Leica Medal of Excellence, among other recognitions. She was a photo editor at Associated Press, a contract photographer for Newsweek, and director of photography at The Miami Herald. She is a member of Vll Agency and Foundation.
