Known for his public art installations, sculpture, photography, and wax-oil rubbings, Gregor Turk often incorporates mapping imagery, signage, and cultural markings into his artwork. He has had two residencies at Hambidge including one in 2017 that resulted in the site-specific installation, Phalanx, composed of convex security mirrors. A similar piece, Assembly, is currently installed on Ponce de Leon across from the Majestic Diner. He has permanent public art installations at the Atlanta and Jacksonville airports. His work is included in the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection, High Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art- Georgia and numerous other public and private collections. Turk grew up in Atlanta, received his B.A. from Rhodes College in Memphis and his M.F.A. from Boston University. Between degrees he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia. His studio is located in Blandtown on Atlanta's Westside.
