Kathy Colt is an Atlanta-based textile and fiber artist/designer. While working toward a degree in Landscape Architecture in the early 1990's, she began serious exploration of cloth and fiber as artistic media. Her cloth & fiber-based 3D and low-relief works focus on the enrichment of human spiritual/interior experience. Her symbolism and subject matter draw extensively on observation of natural phenomena. Kathy has shown work in both Atlanta-area and national exhibitions, including the American Craft Council shows in Atlanta and San Francisco. She has also taught and presented on a variety of topics/textile techniques including nuno felting, surface design on cloth, indigo dyeing, and "slow" textiles.
