Angelyn S, Chandler is an Atlanta based artist. After graduating from Emory University she pursued graduate studies at the John Herron Art Institute, Indianapolis, IN; Art Students League of NY; Joshi Bijutsu Daigaku (Womens Art University), Tokyo, Japan; Atlanta College of Art; and Georgia State University, Atlanta. "I experience painting as an exploration of myself and of my surroundings in order to widen my reality. I am exploring map like images, pictographic markings and the coincidence of writing and picture making in asemic writing." Among her one person exhibits is a solo exhibit at the Chelsea Gallery, Western Carolina University; Weslyan College Macon, Georgia; the Great American Gallery; the Connell Gallery, Atlanta; and Image South Gallery, Atlanta Angelyn served as the Executive Director of the Atlanta International Museum of Art and Design (now MODA) for 13 years. In 1997 she was an Honoree for Achievement in the Arts for Georgia Women, Historic Preservation Office in the Department of Natural Resourses. Angelyn is currently a full time studio artist, making ceramics and painting in her home studio.
