Untitled, Jacoby
St. Louis Children's 9th floor staff: "When asking those who worked with Coby how to describe him, love and light come to mind. Coby lit up every room, embracing life and those in it. Truly the happiest and most positive child you would ever meet. The first time he met Daphne, Coby shared a love of the art he had yet to discover. To find the best ways to engage in art with visual impairments, Coby and Daphne explored the use of tape resist. They found that with the use of a light board, Coby could visually see the black/white outline of the tape on the surface. Loving the art process and the experience at his first AFTH, Coby elected to proceed with a second tape resist, this time inviting the audience to engage with his piece through touch. Cutting out the shapes of his tape resist, Coby loved that he could feel his art and mentally see the image he created. Coby is so missed. We are all grateful to have had the opportunity to care for him during his treatment at SLCH."
