Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County is thrilled to announce the 62nd Annual Gourmet Dinner Gala, themed "A Sunset Salute: Celebrating 20 Years of Operation Bigs," set aboard the historic USS Midway on October 10th, 2024! This special event honors two decades of unwavering support for the children of military families, including those from active duty, veteran, and Gold Star families. Operation Bigs, initiated in response to the unique challenges faced by military children, has flourished into a vital community resource, recognized as one of the country's most successful military mentoring programs.

This year, we're proud to pay tribute to Retired Major General Anthony Jackson, a stalwart advocate for military families and a pivotal figure in Operation Bigs' success. His leadership and dedication embody the spirit of our mission, making him the deserving recipient of the "2024 Big Champion" award.

Join us aboard the USS Midway for an unforgettable evening of celebration, cocktails, dinner, sunset views, and purpose - all in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters' mission to ignite the potential within every child in our community.

The cocktail reception will be hosted outside on the flight deck followed by dinner and the program inside of the ship. Please note: stilettos shoes are NOT recommended as the Midway has several staircases and uneven flooring which can be difficult in high heels.  We highly recommend wearing flat or wedge shoes only.
