Plantissimo 19 by Jac Lahav acrylic, flashe, pastel on paper, 9 x 12 inches, 13 x 16 inches framed, 2024. Born in Israel, Jac Lahav grew up in Boston and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. He studied painting at the School of Visual Arts and The Cooper Union and received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Brooklyn College, New York in 2008. Lahav's work uses portraits, abstracts, and plant sculptures to investigate narratives of trauma, repair, and growth. These stories focus on under-recognized cultural histories and Lahav's own journey as a foster parent.

Solo museum shows include the Richmond Art Museum in Indiana, Longview MFA inTexas, Saginaw Art Museum in Michigan, Florence Griswold Museum among others, and his work can be found in multiple public collections, including the Jewish Museum in Milwaukee, Mount Holyoke Art Museum, and more.
