Snag yourself a fabulous first edition of Osa Johnson's classic zebra striped I Married Adventure! This book never goes out of style and has remained a highly collectable book for 80+ years.

Edition details from the donor, bookman Lloyd Zimmer:

I Married Adventure by Osa Johnson. Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott Company (1940). First printing of the first edition after a limited edition of 500 copies mostly reserved as presentation copies for the author. 376 pages. Very Good condition sans the dust jacket. IMA was first published by Lippincott in 1940, with similar copies printed by Garden City Publishing Company and Halcyon Publishing over the following two years. 84 years later, this title still remains in print in English, and has been translated into more than a dozen other languages. Copies published by Lippincott, Garden City, and Halcyon all have the zebra stripe cloth covers. There are variations in the quality of cloth print, with Lippincott being superior and holding up best over time. Although the second Lippincott printing is stated as such, some of the later printings only include the 1940 copyright and are essentially identical to the first in all ways but one! Only the first printing of the first edition will have the word "Adventure" on the top cover and the spine in italics as seen on this copy. Condition: The overall condition of this copy would grade as Very Good and it is much better than most copies on the market. There is a little scattered rubbing seen on the cloth covers, but otherwise, the covers remains bright and clean. The end leaves, with the photo of the giraffe heard remains intact and there are no tears along the hinge. The top (front) hinge is just a little loose. The volume is otherwise tight and very clean with no book marks, inked names, or other markings.
