Horses for Clean Water is a program developed by horse owners for horse owners. Their mission is to help other horse owners manage their land in the best way possible for horse health and the environment. Topics include mud management, manure management, non-toxic pest control, pasture management, composting, horse keeping and more.

In just one hour each week, for a series of six weeks, you will learn how to:

  • Reduce mud to increase chore efficiency, improve horse health, and prevent runoff that pollutes surface water
  • Manage the 50 pounds of manure each horse produces daily without raising a stink, attracting pests, or creating environmental problems
  • Prevent overgrazing and soil compaction to ensure healthy pastures next summer
  • Implement rotational grazing, along with choosing fencing options safe for horses
  • Design a confinement area for your horse that includes equine enrichment opportunities
  • Prepare for wildfire emergencies and make a plan to keep your home and horses safe
  • Create an outdoor wash rack to help with water conservation
  • Build an inexpensive trail course to enhance your riding opportunities at home
  • Employ nature-based pest control measures like barn owl boxes for rodent control
  • Make your winter chores easier and more time efficient

Each week features a live webinar you can watch or listen to from the comfort of your own home, and they provide you with a PDF slideshow to follow along with as you listen to the live narration, and each class ends with a Q&A session.

Enrollment is limited to 20 to make sure everyone has plenty of time to ask their questions and get detailed answers.
