1"Branches of Vitality and Mortality" Silvana Gabriela Valencia
Oil on Canvas. 48"x40"
Year: 2020
I've always been fascinated by branched structures and the fractal pattern that connects all living organisms to the most basic universal forms. This is the idea "at the heart" of this painting. The juxtaposition of the heart and the corals as vital. organs. We must treasure these as we must treasure the kindness in our hearts. We are one and the same; which is why this painting can be appreciated as shown or inverted.
Climate change, it is a Global phenomenon of climate transformation specially caused by human activities. We need to work as a unit to combat this fact. As the way the universe works keeping everything connected.
This painting expresses that statement. From the inner core of the world, flowers, pollen, and bees provide the majority of biotic pollination and are at risk for different factors. The inner core is connected to coral reefs. 25% of the ocean's fish depend on healthy coral reefs. The world needs our kindness .
