Two great red Burgundies from the road less travelled.
Domaine Francois Lumpp 'Crausot' Givry -The stony soil of this premier cru gives this wine both structure and freshness. This dense wine's structure is designed for aging, while the fresh red-cherry and plum fruits are laced with acidity, promising enormous potential. Roger Voss

Domaine Joseph Drouhin Cote de Beaune Rouge 2015- From the generous 2015 vintage, this CÃÆ'Ã'´te de Beaune wears the heat well. Pinot and heat do not a match make, especially in cool climate regions like Bourgogne. To allowing the fruit to shine. Plump plum, dark raspberry, cherry leather stretch long on the palate, striated with wet wood, moss, forest floor, and fine sweet spices. There's a mouthwatering salinity to the finish, helping to raise the freshness and drinkability. Solid, as ever. (Treve Ring)
