1Pablita Velarde (Tse Tsan) - "Road Runner" - Earth Pigment on Masonite (Late 1960s). The first pueblo woman to become a professional visual artist, Velarde (Santa Clara; 1918-2006) celebrated pueblo culture and life using her distinctive style and techniques. She created her earth pigments (on frame and painting) by grinding rock and mixing it with Elmer's glue. She might have sold this gem for $100. 16.5" x 14.5" framed.
