We are a team of three Colorado Springs artists. Lori Vafiades, Elizabeth Lutz and Sarah Joy are seasoned illustrators and teachers. We lead a group of artists through Sanctuary Studios where we conduct healing art and movement classes. Our team specializes in life-giving art and whimsical illustration. We are new artists with Rotary's Wings of Change but do have experience in creating art for public venues.

Our garden butterfly "Emerge" utilizes circles as a motif, representing the continuous cycle of life and growth. There are scenes of beginnings, symbolized by images such as a cocoon, a seed, and a sunrise heralding a new day. These visuals evoke themes of light, life, and hope, inviting viewers to contemplate the potential for transformation. There are also representations of fulfillment and fruition. Here, the butterfly spreads its wings in flight, surrounded by flourishing plants, vibrant communities, and diverse expressions of health and well-being. The before & after images embody the concept of emerging, illustrating the beauty that arises from embracing change and growth. Throughout the sculpture, intricate henna designs intertwine with the illustrations, weaving a cohesive visual narrative that unites the diverse elements of the artwork. This integration symbolizes the interconnectedness of all life and reinforces the message of unity and inclusion.
