ILAAMEN PELSHAW is a visual artist born in Guatemala and based in Omaha, Nebraska. She creates art that is colorful, warm, and happy as a celebration of her heritage. With a background in graphic design and illustration, her art has a distinctive, figurative graphic line, and is focused on storytelling. Pelshaw has participated in more than forty group exhibits in Omaha, Lincoln, Sioux City, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, San Diego, and Portland, in addition to three local solo shows. Her art can be found in private collections around Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Pelshaw was selected as the Omaha Summer Arts Festival Featured Illustrator for two years; a winner of the seventh edition of Latin American Illustration by AI/AP; a selected artist for the United States Department of State's Art in Embassies program, with the piece "United We Live" being displayed at the US Ambassador's residence in Kampala, Uganda; and featured in SINGULART Magazine from Paris as One of Seven Illustrators to Watch. Pelshaw's art is permanently displayed at the Omaha Public Library.
