DAVID PATTERSON attended weekly art lessons in elementary and middle school where he learned foundational techniques in drawing and painting with watercolors and oils. His first instructor was an accomplished painter who had an affinity for painting the natural world. Patterson honed his skills further in secondary and post-secondary classes that were taught by artists who had a flare for dramatic and abstract compositions. His unique style emerged from these influences. Patterson's paintings have been featured in local and regional exhibitions and galleries. His work can be found in public and private art collections both regionally and nationally. Patterson lives in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska with his wife and three children.

Select exhibitions include Camera and Canvas at Jewish Community Center Gallery in 2019; Spirit-A Celebration of Art in the Heartland at Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) in Kearney, Nebraska in 2020; and Textured Prairies at Studio K Gallery in Grand Island, Nebraska in 2021.
