THOMAS MCLAUGHLIN is an artist who celebrates the use of static and plastic objects and materials in our modern lives. His work is highly informed by manipulating and experimenting with the various materials and objects which are necessarily discarded in our mass consumptive culture. Based in Omaha, Nebraska, he is the resident artist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Monroe Meyer Institute, in a program called Advocacy and the Arts. As an arts educator, he enjoys building students' imaginative capacity through the exploration of those everyday, mundane materials we purchase, build with, consume, and live with. He attended the University of Nebraska Omaha studying art history and arts production.
