JOSH MARTIN is an emerging artist residing In Kansas City, Missouri. He works primarily in tattooing and ceramics, bringing a contemporary approach to both mediums through their overlap in history and tactile juxtapositions. Raised by a doll maker on a large farm, while coveting access to underground art such as tattooing and graffiti, led to his unique voice as an artist. Martin uses his unique lens of Americana through farming and tattooing to honor and challenge the storied history of this subject.

"My work is a constant evolution of my history and yearning for personal growth. Passions versus loss and grief have led to my personal narrative and world I create in. My late mother's doll making led to a need for giving inanimate objects a soul. My time in social work and personal struggles with anxiety gave a need for emotional intelligence, while my passion for tattooing created an admiration of Americana and its history. This work all coincides with these core elements, rotating importance while supporting each other."
