J. LYNN BATTEN is a mixed-media artist from Omaha, Nebraska. She specializes in collage with acrylic paint, monoprint fragments, ink, and pencil. Her current work explores the cycle in which information is viewed, absorbed, and discarded-all at a staggering rate in today's digital world. These works seek to examine the generation, consumption, and temperance of such communications. Batten holds a BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and has displayed artwork nationally at the National Museum of Health and Medicine at the Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, the Chicago Cultural Center in Illinois, the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, and the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. In 2011, her work was selected for display in Conan O'Brien's COCO MoCA presents: The Fine Art of the Flaming C, a pop-up exhibit held in San Diego in conjunction with Comic-Con.
