SHELLY BARTEK was born in a country setting, which led to the spirit of land and sky within it inspiring nature's narrative. Bartek's signature is painting with oil medium and gold leaf on wood panels. Her subjects vary, but never far from the prairie's spirit and always with a symbolic message of purpose. Her fine art has been exhibited in galleries stretching from California to Florida. Her talent was recognized early, winning a first-place National Scholastic Award. Holding a commercial art degree for illustration, she developed her own style training with established artists at the Anderson Ranch Art Center in Snowmass, Colorado and her gold leaf techniques from Prosopon School of Iconography, New York. She was a finalist of the Nebraska Arts 1% Grant for the Buffett Cancer Center installation, earned Top Finalist in the National "Paint America" competition, and attained honorary commissions like United Nations and Paramount Pictures. Currently, Bartek is showing at Anderson O'Brien Fine Art Gallery in Omaha, Nebraska.
