JOSEPH BROGHAMMER has exhibited work in more than 100 group shows and solo exhibitions in the United States, as well as the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Mexico. With work found in museum collections and many public and private collections, Broghammer has developed into one of the region's most original voices, whose mark making can be traced from Bosch and Brueghel to Dali and Magritte and linked to the likes of John Graham and Tony Fitzpatrick.

"I am exploring a conversation with myself. I use birds as a stage to create a visual diary of the life around me. I am in my own world where I learn how to work through issues or celebrate happiness. I tell myself stories of what has happened in my life so I can better myself and remember the journey."

Broghammer obtained his BFA from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and completed graduate work at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
