The Somms behind Somms Cellars
Close friends and industry veterans Jason Jacobeit and Daniel Jung began planning a retail project together in 2017, motivated by a strongly shared passion for the wines of France's Burgundy region together with a deep commitment to hospitality. Jung has served for many years as the head sommelier at legendary donwtown wine destination Tribeca Grill, overseeing one of the city's deepest and most comprehensive wine programs, with a particular renown for mature and well-priced offerings. Jacobeit serves as Wine Director of Burgundy-focused Batard restaurant since the restaurant's opening in 2014. During his tenure he guided its wine list to its position among the city's most aspirational Burgundy inventories, with a particular commitment to the broad appeal and tremendous value offered by so many of the region's wines.

Cancer Research Institute
This event benefits the Cancer Research Institute's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
After decades of investigation, scientists have unlocked the power of our body's own immune system to fight cancer. This class of treatments-called cancer immunotherapy-enhances a patient's immune system to identify and eliminate cancer cells, anywhere in the body.
Established in 1953, the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to saving more lives by fueling the discovery and development of powerful immunotherapies for all types of cancer.
We fund the most innovative clinical and laboratory research around the world, support the next generation of the field's leaders, and serve as the trusted source of information on immunotherapy for cancer patients and their caregivers. CRI's programs provide strategic support along the entire pathway of discovery, drug development, and patient support.
