Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, is the "Second Buddha", who founded Buddhism in Tibet in the 8th century. He stands prominently on a lotus base, holding a vajra and staff, adorned in ornate robes that signify his mastery and enlightened state.

This unusual depiction of Padmasambhava as a standing figure was prophesied to possess the power to repel hostile forces. Some believe that such a statue should have been erected to protect Tibet from invasion. Colloquially, this manifestation is known in Tibetan as Hor Chok Mak Dok.

This statue has been ritually consecrated by a Tibetan lama trained in the art of sacred empowerment.

Size: 13 x 5.5"
