About Artist Jim Inzero

"My paintings are about connecting with people and how I can make that human connection"

Jim Inzero (American, b. 1972) earned his BFA Degree in Interior Architecture and Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art. New Jersey State Certified and has also achieved certification through the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Inzero was eager to quickly adapt his understanding of the Architecture and Interior Design Business and, after several years in the industry, he focused on masterplanning with Johns Hopkins University. A transformation in his direction accompanied his career migration from Baltimore to residing on the Metedeconk River, New Jersey. In 2001, Inzero and his wife launched a retail store named Stella e Luna. Later, in 2004, he traveled to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and studied the ancient technique of encaustic painting (using pigments mixed with hot wax that are burned in as an inlay). In 2018, he opened the Jim Inzero Gallery, next door to Stella e Luna.

Inzero's work reflects his lifelong fascination with the shore and its surroundings. Inzero's paintings convey the gratitude and bounty expressed by the ocean environment through movement and serenity. The connection he feels with the people around him inspires him all the time. This provides a unique opportunity to express energy and emotions in a way that will always begin and end at the horizon, which he believes represents the meeting point for life's highs and lows.

"One can spend a long time painting only to discover they know very little about it."

Inzero arrives at the 'canvas' with no preconceived notions and an open mind. Delineation and likeness are more of a resolution than an aim - a distillation of shape, color, and mark into a whole of an experience that has resonance.
