Meet the artist:

Nita has always loved art. However, she chose to pursue a career in accounting and taxation and she's currently working as a sr. tax manager for a privately held company. Nita got married and started a family in 1998, which left little time for art. She grew to miss it. Since Covid hit in 2019, she has immersed herself in painting every chance she gets and read all she could about art. That's when she moved to the Charlotte area. Nita has reconnected to her original love for art. She loves how it feels to start with a fresh canvas and the potential opportunities under its blankness. Sometimes she feels it's kind of obsession that she can't stay away from colors and brushes for very long. There is a force from within that keeps Nita going and she paints like it's a meditational process for her. She looses herself in that world where her and her subject become one.

Nita enjoys painting in her home studio in Stanley, NC it's a small town 20 miles away from charlotte. She enjoys painting landscapes, florals, still life and even attempted a few pet potraits. Her preferred medium is oil on stretched canvas. She has tried water colors and acrylics but loves the oil paints for its forgiving nature.

Nita is a member of Mint Hill Arts and has presented and won an award for her sunflower painting and another autumn painting in last two competitions she has participated in. Nita's hopes is to be serving the city of Charlotte and surrounding areas with her art.
